After teasing it (again) yesterday, Samsung finally showed off the Galaxy Ring in physical form at MWC 2024 and revealed some additional details. The device is of course centered on health and wellness and will be available in Platinum Silver, Gold and Ceramic Black colours. It’s set to go on sale later this year.
When Samsung showed off its first renderings of the Galaxy Ring at the Unpacked show last month, it didn’t reveal much about the Galaxy Ring. All we knew at the time was that it would be a health-oriented wearable positioned to compete with the Oura, and that it would have an unknown set of sensors.
Reporters were not allowed to photograph it today, but according to the provided image (below), some additional images provided by Samsung show that it is a thick, concave ring the same size as Oura. The extra girth isn’t surprising considering the electronics hidden inside.

The size of the battery (and the time between charges) will vary depending on the size, ranging from 14.5mAh to 21.5mAh. Battery life is unknown, but the Oura can last up to 7 days on a single charge.
According to Samsung Vice President Dr. Hon Pak’s blog, the ring will track sleep based on heart rate, movement and breathing, and then provide users with recommendations based on this. The company will also collect data from partner Natural Cycles, which already has fertility tracking on the Galaxy Watch, matching a key feature of the Oura.
Galaxy Ring will also offer a new tool called My Vitality Score that measures alertness so users can see if they are feeling their best. Feedback will be provided through “booster cards” that provide scientific tips using sleep and other data collected by the device.
The Galaxy Ring will be part of Samsung’s health ecosystem and will be compatible with the Galaxy Watch. This means you’ll be able to use both devices at the same time to track your health and get higher-quality data. That said, the advantage of a ring wearable is that sleeping with it on is less annoying.
We’ll learn more in the coming months, including the exact sensor package, pricing, and on-sale date. The Galaxy Ring is only compatible with Samsung Galaxy phones, but the company plans to make it compatible with other Android devices later. However, iOS compatibility is still to be determined, Pak said.
