Microsoft first launched AI-powered Office features for businesses in November, but just two months later, the company has made them available to consumers. Copilot Pro is now available. Most of the features that have been available to businesses over the past few months will be available to consumers, with the biggest exception being the ability to summon Copilot to generate PowerPoint presentations based on Word files. Because the consumer version does not support Microsoft’s Graph technology, this feature is not yet available.
In addition to Office integration, Copilot Pro includes access to the latest OpenAI models, improvements to Image Creator (formerly Bing Image Creator) in Designer, and the ability to build your own Copilot GPTs.
If you are not a Microsoft 365 subscriber, you can only subscribe to Copilot Pro to get priority access to GPT-4 Turbo in Copilot. You’ll get faster performance during peak hours and be able to switch between models quickly. Image creation using OpenAI’s DALL-E model will also be improved with a new landscape image format and improved image quality with Copilot Pro.
